GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
As its name suggests, GE’s Profile series is targeted at consumers who want to incorporate cutting-edge technology into their kitchens. The refrigerator is brimming with them, from an in-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a sophisticated water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This refrigerator is costly and I was expecting better.
This fridge is a great option, despite the slight blip. It has a huge freezer compartment that is not common for counter-depth French door fridges. It also holds plenty of frozen food, which is a big difference from other models.
Inside the fridge, you'll find 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment offers 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is on the same as a French door fridge costing this much. It comes with a decent size refrigerator with an ice maker in the left door. But it's not the most spacious one I've seen.
You can alter the shelving in both compartments to create a custom storage setup for what you want to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive, too. The LED lighting is a nice touch and the storage bins come with an additional shelf that folds up beneath itself to make it possible to store items that are tall. The drawers come with temperature controls so you can set them for Beverage, Meat or Deli settings. The drawers are easy to open and close however I found the plastic's textured coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.
The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator has all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator within this price range. The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is an impressive product. It's designed to appear like a seamless piece of your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also features a veggie compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer, and two compressors for preserving food. This refrigerator was the highest-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators test, for several reasons. One of the nice aspects of this refrigerator is that its Ice maker is located in the freezer, making it simple to move frozen ice to the fridge to use as required. The freezer features thoughtful design elements, too, like sliding drawers that can help you to organize the place of items. It also comes with a large bin that can hold plenty of frozen food items as well as an additional container for storing ice.
Smart InstaView panel is another awesome feature of the refrigerator. You can manage the temperature, lighting, and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It's a simple method to keep track of your fridge and manage it, particularly when you're away from home.
Although the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't improve the overall performance of the refrigerator. In fact, it took longer to defrost and chill foods in this refrigerator than other refrigerators we tried. This is likely due to the bigger capacity.
The doors pose a problem with this refrigerator. The handles that are sunken let shorter people open them from the bottom. However taller people have a difficult time closing them without slamming. It would have been better if these had front-mounted handles.
The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent choice for those looking to blend the aesthetics of a French-door refrigerator with an efficient design. Its capacity is superior to counter-depth models and also cools evenly. It's also less expensive than the best counter depth refrigerator that comes with an ice maker, making it a desirable option.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good choice when you're looking for a French door refrigerator that doesn't cost a lot of budget. It's a basic refrigerator which may not be as eye-catching like some of its competitors, but it still has enough features to make it a suitable choice. Its main feature is the temperature adjustable drawer, which helps keep foods such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also has a large ice maker and a water dispenser.
The "Chill Drawer", which is located over the two crisper bins, is a excellent feature. This drawer lets you redirect some of the refrigerator's cooling power directly into this area, meaning you can keep food items that need extra attention. This feature is adjustable using a slider on the outside of the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the general settings work better than the specific ones.
During my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across all areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the fridge didn't differ significantly from 38 degrees. This is a great performance but doesn't quite make it to the top of our ratings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat to get more accurate readings on the internal temperature of your fridge.
The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of gray-bodied stainless with a "smudge proof" finish. It does a great job of removing streaks and fingerprints, even compared to glossy stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
